GRITS Tailgate at the Southern

One of the highlights of the Southern Side by Side, was the tailgate my GRITS girls and I hosted.  It was planned for weeks and raved about all weekend by almost everyone I spoke to.

All set up, just waiting for the shooting day to end.

Elizabeth's Polaris, decked out to let everyone know they were in the right place.

Four of the (many) GRITS Girls- G, WWD, M and S.

Elizabeth, my wonderful instructor and GRITS founder, showing off her new game belt.

Sandy's, our tailgate 'designer', redneck wineglass, which we made sure was always full.

Dave and our friend T.

Sandy did a great job setting up the GRITS goodies display.  Several people also asked to purchase Foxy, who sadly for many, was not for sale.

GRITS love our koozies.

The delicious spread.

We had many distinguished guests, including world-renowned shooter, Chris Batha (on the right).  After meeting him I joked with Elizabeth that I felt like a teenage girl meeting Justin Bieber.

One of the many four-legged friends who stopped by.

Instead of the usual SUVs you see at steeplechase and football tailgates, the transportation method of choice here was the golf cart.

The gorgeous tablecloth D picked up in Germany

The citrus sangria I made was a popular choice for everyone visiting the bar.

The festivities in full swing.

Dave and I had a fantastic time and can't wait to do it again with all our friends at the the Southern Fall Classic this October.
