Las Vegas, Part II

Friday, we started off the day early since we had a tour of Hoover Dam planned.  This was the one and only thing I wanted to do in Las Vegas and it did not disappoint.

We had just gotten on the road when the bus made the first stop.  I didn't know where we were until I saw this iconic sign.

There were very pretty views of Lake Mead on the road to the dam.

We're here!

Our tour of the Power Plant had just started when we had a sudden change in tour guides.

Donny Osmond was with his family and on our tour when our tour guide spotted him in the back of the room.  He took her pointer and began his version of the tour, which while not quite as informative, was tons of fun.  He sure knew how to charm an audience.

After we calmed down from the excitement of seeing Donny, we proceeded to the room with the enormous turbines.

It's a long way down...

Having a dam good time.

Dave is a fan of 'old things' and the only thing he wanted to do while in Vegas was see the Golden Nugget and Binion's Horseshoe.  Since I had 'my day' I figured I'd give him 'his night'.  Off to Freemont Street we went.

Everything was very bright.

How can anyone make a decision?

How do they decide who bartends and who dances?  BTW, I don't think I'd ever take my children to Vegas.  But if I did, they certainly wouldn't come to this part of town.  All the girls working at the casinos and bars were wearing very skimpy outfits and there was alcohol everywhere.

We saw lots of celebrities...

We had fun at Freemont Street but after I've seen it once, I don't think I need to see it again.
