Las Vegas, Part I

Last month, JDD and I went to Las Vegas for my birthday.  It was the first trip for both of us and we weren't quite sure what to expect.  We stayed at the MGM Grand and while our suite was awesome, I didn't care for the hotel.  It was huge and I felt like wherever we went it was wall to wall people.

I have a ton of pictures and so as not to overload you, I'll do one post for each day we were there.  I also took hundreds of pictures of the fountains at the Bellagio so I'll put those in a separate post as well.

Love being at the airport at 5:00 a.m.

I really thought the stories of slot machines at the airport were an urban legend.  Turns out they aren't.  And yes, I'm one of 'those people' who immediately puts a dollar in as soon as she gets off the plane.

Shortly after checking in, we hit the pool at the hotel.  It was super crowded at the main pool but we found a nice spot at the lazy river.

We then checked out the lions.

Dave's colleague had passes for the Tournament of Kings show at the Excalibur Hotel.  It's exactly the same as Medieval Times.  It definitely wouldn't have been my first choice of things to do, but it was free.  And we had a good time.  Though I refused to eat the chicken with my hands.

We hit the sack fairly early because we had an exciting Hoover Dam tour the following day.  Wait until you see who our tour guide was...
