Welcome to the World, Allie

My bestie received some great Christmas news last year and found out that she was pregnant with her third child.  It was totally unexpected as it took her a long time to have her twins, and my favorite little ones on the planet, B&T.  And it was even more fun when she found out she was having a girl.  The blue nursery needed to be painted pink!

On Saturday, May 14 I got the call at 8:30 p.m. saying it was time.  The plan was for me to come to their house so that Jim, Bestie's husband, could be with Susan at the hopsital to wait for The Princess' arrival.  (The twins were super cute and named her The Princess as soon as Bestie told them they were going to have a sister.)  The plan was being executed about a week early and later in the day (Susan was to have a scheduled c-section first thing in the morning).  JDD was in Africa on business travel so I packed up Spencer and took him to my brother-in-law's house for the night.  I had overnight plans. :-)

I settled in with B&T to watch a movie and then have a sleepover in their bunkbeds.  The bunkbeds are actually really neat and have a queen bed on the bottom on a twin bed on top.  Bestie kinda spoiled the boys and sleept in the bottom bed with them every night.  Well, B&T expected me to do the same.  Thankfully they agreed to let me sleep in the top bunk as long as I left the ladder in place in case they needed to climb up to see me.  Thankfully it was an uneventful night.  Except for me texting in the wee hours so I could get all the deets.

While we were sleeping, this little pretty arrived.  Meet Allie...

The next morning, the twins and I played outside, splashin' in puddles, waiting to go to the hospital to meet The Princess.

Just like with her brothers, I took the first pictures of Allie.  These are memories I'll treasure forever.

The boys were a few weeks early and I was afraid to hold, them but not so with The Princess.  She was all mine.  Plus I was way more comfortable having been around my super preemie niece, Hadley.

And here is Allie at six weeks.  She still has a ton of hair and looks like a perfect combination of her brothers.  She has B's eyes and the rest of T's face.

The perfect little family- Benjamin, Allie and Teddy

Teddy was very shy around Allie at first but he adores her now.

  1. How beautiful! I'm on call to serve as baby sitter as my best friend is about to pop with her little princess. If you could handle twins, I can handle one 2-year-old.
