HomeGoods, you've come through for me again, just like an old friend. After searching high and low for a country/shabby chic-ish/not too modern TV console, I found just what I was looking for at Home Goods. And the reason I went to HG wasn't for a console but rather a lamp (still looking, sigh). As I was walking back to the lamps I saw this devine, sage green console. It's perfect! There are shelves on either side so that I can store the books and things that were on the bookshelf I no longer wanted. And best of all, it was only $300!
And even better than finding the console was the new TV we bought yesterday to put on it. We've finally entered the 21st century and are now the proud owners of a 42" LG LED TV. It's devine.
But the best part of all was finding homes for the three things I wanted to throw away. As Dave and I were putting the trash on the sidewalk to be hauled away later this week, a young guy across the street was eyeing up the old television. Dave told him it still worked and that he was welcome to it. He took the TV and the bookshelf. And when I went outside this morning to walk Spencer I saw that the
ugly old TV stand was gone. So not only did I get new things, so did someone else. :-)
A Home Goods recently opened in Chicago, but I've yet to make it over there. I need to go check it out! That stand is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love the stand and think it will be perfect for the new tv. We have a 42" also and I think it is the perfect size.
